The GARR conference is approaching, which will be held at the Polytechnic University of Turin from June 4th to 6th. The conference will showcase the best experiences of online innovation in the fields of education, research, and culture.
Registration for "Connecting the Future," the 2019 edition's title, is now open. This event will explore the technological opportunities and challenges of multidisciplinary research.
THE PROGRAM
The course will address highly topical issues that are transforming research, such as Big Data, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, as well as the new frontiers of ICT sustainability, examples of excellence in digital education, and the sensitive issue of digital data preservation.
The sessions will be opened by keynote speakers of international standing, starting from Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli, professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Berkeley, who will open the conference with a speech on “The Future of the Future.”.
Experts of the calibre of Barbara Caputo, Polytechnic of Turin, Andrea Cavalli, IIT, Vincenzo Lombardo, University of Turin and Donato Malerba of the University of Bari.
Among the most anticipated guests, opening the panel on cybersecurity will be Raoul Chiesa, one of the first and most famous Italian ethical hackers, who will guide us to discover the common thread that links different worlds, ecosystems and actors, moving from hacking to cyber warfare.
We will discuss the legal aspects related to research data and the opportunities and risks introduced by technologies such as AI, blockchain or IoT with the lawyer Fulvio Sarzana expert in information law, with Antonella Mulé of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, which deals with data management in the archival sector, and other protagonists in the biomedical research sector.
