Here are the new features of the Electronic Communications Code.

Legislative Decree 207/2021 of 8 November 2021, implementing Directive (EU) 2018/1972 on the European Electronic Communications Code, was published in the Official Journal No. 292 of 9 December.
The decree enters into force on December 24, 2021, and covers provisions regarding: electronic communications networks and services for public use, including networks used for the circular broadcast of audio and television programs and cable television networks; closed user groups; electronic communications networks and services for private use; protection of underwater electronic communications systems; and radio services.

The publication effectively closes the infringement procedure initiated on 4 February 2021 by the European Commission against 24 EU Member States (including Italy) for failure to transpose the new European telecommunications regulations, and specifically, for failure to transpose the European Electronic Communications Code, which entered into force in December 2018, with which the European Union updated the existing regulatory framework for electronic communications.
