Parental control

Parental controls and obligations for providers and device vendors.

The Italian legislator has established rules regarding content inappropriate for minors with the so-called Pillon Law, through guidelines issued by the Communications Regulatory Authority and with the recent Legislative Decree no. 123 of 15 September 2023, currently being converted into law.

The provisions establish a comprehensive system of child protection that combines information and transparency for device providers and electronic communications operators.

The rules also provide for timeframes to implement the provisions of the primary and secondary rules.

To investigate these innovations, the Association of electronic communication operators Assoprovider, the oldest associative body of telecommunications operators, has organised a Webinar, which will take place on 17 October from 4 pm onwards, curated by the Studio Sarzana Law Firm and Associates are the legal advisors to the Association.

During the webinar, it will be possible to see some concrete examples of the application of parental control filters.
