The book.

The book of the former Deputy President of the Court of Cassation and Lawyer Carlo Sarzana di S.Ippolito retraces some of the saddest and most delicate pages in our country's history.

The Deputy President of the Court of Cassation

Carlo Sarzana di S.Ippolito was a highly prominent magistrate in the history of our country and held the most important positions in the judiciary.

He then had several top roles.

As the title suggests, this is an 'uncomfortable' book, one that relentlessly brings together the omissions, reticences, incompetence, delays, and disappearances of documents and IT tools that have plagued the judicial investigations into the Capaci and Palermo massacres, ultimately outlining the disturbing scenarios that form the backdrop to the tragic end of Giovanni Falcone and Paolo Borsellino.

The investigations

Following the two magistrates' trail wherever possible, connections are drawn with other Sicilian investigations that have revealed the dark underbelly of international organized crime, occult Masonic lodges, and unfaithful state apparatuses. The author scrutinizes every detail, drawing on a wealth of documents painstakingly retrieved from court records, the press, and the internet. Comparing often conflicting versions, he aligns known and lesser-known facts to reconstruct a thread with too many loose threads, through which the truth has been lost, perhaps irretrievably. The sarcasm that occasionally emerges between the lines is proof that the matter is still incandescent; after all, the intent behind the investigation is clear: "to reinvigorate the memory of those who died for us”, the italics to express the unspeakable scandal of the sacrifice.
