Privacy #GDPR: May 25th marks the X hour.

More than 1,500 members have registered for the Privacy Day forum.

The seventh edition of the Privacy Day Forum will take place in Rome on May 25, 2018, a date that is likely destined to go down in the history of the European Union, because it is the very day the new Regulation on the protection of personal data, already in force since 2016, becomes fully operational. For this reason, the Federprivacy conference takes on a very special meaning this year.

“"May 25th will truly be a historic date, as the goal of establishing a single regulatory framework for privacy for all EU member states is being realized. We don't want it to be remembered as the day heavy fines were introduced for violators, even though they are an effective deterrent for companies that have not yet taken appropriate action," emphasizes Federprivacy President Bernardi. "We hope, instead, that this date will be remembered as the day Italian and European citizens were granted greater rights to protect their personal data, and, at the same time, the day virtuous companies have a great opportunity to contribute to the climate of trust needed to fully exploit the potential of the digital market.

The event will take place at the Frentani Congress Centre and participation is free upon prior registration. online booking, but since reservations have already exceeded 1,500, a live streaming broadcast has been arranged, which will be accessible on the Federprivacy website.

The lawyer Fulvio Sarzana of the Law Firm of Rome, Sarzana and Associates will speak at 4.30 pm, with a presentation entitled “Personal data around the world,
”The protection of privacy between utopia and reality”
