Day fifteen. Identity theft on social media is reaching alarming levels of complexity. It's no longer just fake profiles with photos of celebrities manipulated or entirely created with artificial intelligence to gain the trust of unsuspecting victims, but even cloned accounts with photos of ordinary people. These techniques are used for sexual blackmail or to construct fake identities that make the scams even more credible. How can you defend yourself? We discuss this in this episode with Fulvio Sarzana, lawyer and university professor of new technology law, and we'll hear the testimonies of those who have experienced these firsthand: Fabio Zaffignani, a hairdresser from Piacenza whose Facebook profile was cloned to carry out online scams, and Luca Torella, mayor of Leini (Turin), who suffered identity theft using so-called social engineering strategies.
