Blockchain is discussed in Rome with leading experts

An all-Italian blockchain, new privacy requirements, and measures to combat unfair competition in the telecommunications sector. Many topics are on the agenda at the Assoprovider assembly, the association founded in 1996 that fights for fairer market conditions and the distribution of ultra-broadband throughout the country. Its end-of-year assembly will be held in Rome on June 15th and 16th.

The event sees association members open up to institutions to discuss key issues for the development of telecommunications infrastructure and services in Italy.

It will also be an opportunity to recognize the men and women who have shaped the history of the Internet. Thanks to a partnership with Lab TV, Assoprovider will offer visibility to those who wish to tell the story of their business and how it has contributed to the spread of the Internet in the area in which they operate.

“"The new challenges facing telecommunications are not only infrastructural but also regulatory, and in some cases, they could negatively impact the development of small operators committed to investing to bridge the digital divide at the local level. We increasingly need to come together, form alliances, and present ourselves as a united front to ensure fair representation of a sector like ours, which is often overlooked by national and European legislators—in terms of its specific weight and the adequacy and proportionality of measures proposed on strategic issues. Only in this way will we contribute to the creation of regulations that can guarantee the economic rights of smaller operators," explains Dino Bortolotto, president of the Association.

Moderator of the day was the lawyer Fulvio Sarzana of S.Ippolito, of the Law firm in Rome, Sarzana and Associates
