Italy’s Communications Authority (AgCom) may remove content and sites on the internet without going through a judge, according to the latest anti-piracy directives expected to take effect from 3 March. A campaign including a number of consumer groups has started in an attempt to “stop the censorship”. The website sitononraggiungibile.e-policy.it has started a petition in an attempt to convince parliament to halt implementation of the measures. The campaign is supported by groups including Adiconsum, Agora Digitale, Altroconsumo, Assonet-Confesercenti and Assoprovider.
